Let me tell you, it was amazing! Thank you to SU! for a fantastic trip to somewhere I probably wouldn't have ever visited and for spoiling us rotten :) I met some great demonstrators and made some new friends. It was perfect.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3Wx48ZVzSydBLBVimn0faE80SFeqlrbGTbu3Oj1mjinU5Q7ydVlBWlUyOoZpmwi83p3V5XYOzT3G4XQTz6qlbGyp8IqSFN8Pa0tZGpoIqpNQU1iGLZSwRhB3Ws_I_ABc6IKa-ebr_Ox8/s1600/P5050266.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3Wx48ZVzSydBLBVimn0faE80SFeqlrbGTbu3Oj1mjinU5Q7ydVlBWlUyOoZpmwi83p3V5XYOzT3G4XQTz6qlbGyp8IqSFN8Pa0tZGpoIqpNQU1iGLZSwRhB3Ws_I_ABc6IKa-ebr_Ox8/s320/P5050266.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Also, I'm coming off another break. Doesn't mean I stopped stamping, but I did stop posting. I started a new job in mid-February and was having trouble keeping up with everything. But I'm going to try to keep my posts short & sweet so I should be able to do it all ;)<br />
<br />
The new catalogue is coming at the end of May and I was able to preorder some new catalogue stamps and the new In Colors. A BIG perk of being a Demonstrator! (contact me how you can enjoy these perks as well as a 20% discount off your orders). One of the stamps I ordered was <i>Wildflower Meadow</i>, a beautiful background stamp. I did use the sketch at <a href="http://casethissketch.blogspot.ca/">CAS(E) this Sketch! </a>though I did change it up a bit ;)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<b>Tips & Tricks:</b> <br />
*Love the colors? They're Smoky Slate (a new color introduced during this year's <a href="http://www.stampinup.com/ca/documents/Color_Reresh_flyer_CA.pdf">Color Refresh</a>) as well as Coastal Cabana, a new In Color. LOVE this color combination.<br />
*Those aren't brads framing the greeting! The are SU!'s new <i>Candy Dots</i>. You can attach them to brad bases for a little lift or simply adhere them to your project just like the jewels. So easy and they come in all the colors of all 4 Color Collections.<br />
*To layer my image, I stamped it twice on separate pieces of card stock and they happened to line up... I think I was lucky ;) But you could also put the smaller piece of Whisper White right on the larger piece and stamp once. You'll always have a perfectly aligned image.<br />
<br />
Hope you'll keep on reading and stamping with me, 'til next time, keep letting stamps bring out <i>your</i> creativity!<br />

I've seen it used many times and since I'm doing an <a href="https://www.facebook.com/events/123127784533741/">All About Heat Embossing Class</a> this Friday I decided to try it out. There's still some time to sign up for the class - we're doing <b>5</b> techniques!). <br />
<br />
This card is a very special card for my new Godson, Zander, who was baptized today :) I don't have any religious stamps, as I'm not too religious. But to me, trees represent life and growth. I thought that the tree from the <i>Forever Young</i> stamp set and 'Dream' from <i>Loving Thoughts</i> would be appropriate. The tree in white and the white ribbon represent the purity that Zander's baptism has given him.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2nc5Un6rDfvRIdYuGcFtIcYHthswpD81fzJxlEa6GQ65TqbN7xtWEMQr_R7RybM0hQNzAKlm6h5Otv1hyqa0sJllXoqGmbXie7ocSoDEUQTZGnowO1G4zrXGMQ5ATbq4yZtUgF1dwZKU/s1600/FMS+74+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2nc5Un6rDfvRIdYuGcFtIcYHthswpD81fzJxlEa6GQ65TqbN7xtWEMQr_R7RybM0hQNzAKlm6h5Otv1hyqa0sJllXoqGmbXie7ocSoDEUQTZGnowO1G4zrXGMQ5ATbq4yZtUgF1dwZKU/s1600/FMS+74+1.jpg" height="400" width="317" /></a></div>
<br />
This week's sketch at <a href="http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/">Freshly Made Sketches</a> was a very simple one, with just the one big element on the card. I did add the ribbon because my card needed it with the <i>Oval Accent</i>. And I always need to do things my way ;) I really love this technique because it's soooo simple, but makes a big impression. Here are some <b>Tips & Tricks:</b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAX83QbJM4ZfjdESn24duF54L7Hb5R8C-fYbFs1FdKkubQaHBv3MH9uljhXa_vDWd-uLSMhZ08HaXtpUzHhy7dwFuZbbKzxpmjtAt_pstC16th2MayJtO4Bj9hMoSPUA0L6DkqVPlkr2k/s1600/FMS+74+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAX83QbJM4ZfjdESn24duF54L7Hb5R8C-fYbFs1FdKkubQaHBv3MH9uljhXa_vDWd-uLSMhZ08HaXtpUzHhy7dwFuZbbKzxpmjtAt_pstC16th2MayJtO4Bj9hMoSPUA0L6DkqVPlkr2k/s1600/FMS+74+2.jpg" height="320" width="256" /></a></div>
*For a crisp white embossed image, use Stampin' Up!'s <i>Whisper White Craft Ink</i>. It's a bit thicker than the <i>VersaMark</i> and will lead to a crisper white on the black. But careful not to goop your stamp up too much ;)<br />
*I sponged the edges of my Basic Black card stock and the surface with some <i>Whisper White Craft Ink</i>. I didn't want the ink on my card stock to be too heavy, so I spread it out some more with a clean sponge.<br />
*To trim my <i>Oval Accent Die Cut</i> to the right size, I first adhered it to the embossed Baja Breeze layer and <i>only after</i> did I trim it with my <i>Paper Trimmer</i>.<br />
<br />
Zander's parents loved the card and were touched by the beautiful image. I hope when he sees it when he grows up he loves it too. I'm honored to be a part of his life :) Amazing what an impact a simple handmade card can make. 'Til next time, keep letting stamps bring out <i>your </i>creativity!<br />

When it came, I <i>knew </i>I had to break them out and use them together. Both of these items are Sale-a-Bration items, FREE with any order of $60 or more!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6Uw7Tpm1YbFnxfYRQDbvDLERuoeIp6x020pb1kWN4VW38gaSI2DvMuYmTh1Mob2L4boHV50Kr91wkWvTsp7DyW7x8KOL8Lcps2qsGqI0IVXnUuf4e3fMek-2axK9ANaw0IfS9Sa_ZMT8/s1600/SS+36+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="368" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6Uw7Tpm1YbFnxfYRQDbvDLERuoeIp6x020pb1kWN4VW38gaSI2DvMuYmTh1Mob2L4boHV50Kr91wkWvTsp7DyW7x8KOL8Lcps2qsGqI0IVXnUuf4e3fMek-2axK9ANaw0IfS9Sa_ZMT8/s400/SS+36+1.jpg" width="400" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I based my card on this week's <a href="http://sundaystamps.blogspot.com/">Sunday Stamps </a>sketch. Of course I changed it up a big, but it's pretty close ;) I am loving the <i>Poetry Prints</i> <i>Designer Paper Stack</i>. There are some really girly papers in there, but there are some fabulous masculine papers there too! And this card fits the bill for a good men's card, I think.<br />
<br />
<b>Tips & Tricks:</b><br />
<br />
*Even though there are fewer images suitable for masculine cards, you can use Designer Papers to fill the void! I like DSPs that have both masculine <i>and</i> feminine patterns.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHbyja9lWns94UAdiUw_DYkMLxkSQwxAxp4nRk68QX5jWQtYQ5AE191znnS7BWHbjUXX3vbi9bmwqZCAS4bayz3kWwL228YNshW2xhy9lMhgbvcDaJelW-uSk1pRZ4roHNh-2mtz50hyA/s1600/SS+36+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="220" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHbyja9lWns94UAdiUw_DYkMLxkSQwxAxp4nRk68QX5jWQtYQ5AE191znnS7BWHbjUXX3vbi9bmwqZCAS4bayz3kWwL228YNshW2xhy9lMhgbvcDaJelW-uSk1pRZ4roHNh-2mtz50hyA/s320/SS+36+2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
*I am loving the new <i>Large Basic Jewels</i>. They are so easy to use instead of a button or brad. And much more cost effective ;)<br />
*I didn't adhere the <i>Linen Thread </i>for the banner to the card. I just mounted my punched out images to the card with <i>Stampin' Dimensionals</i> and made sure that the <i>Dimensionals</i> covered the <i>Linen Thread</i>, holding it in place.<br />
<br />
We will be making this card at my next <a href="https://www.facebook.com/events/507411819298192/">Fast & Fabulous Card Class on Wednesday February 27th</a>. Hope you'll be able to join us. 'Til next time, keep letting stamps bring out <i>your </i>creativity!<br />

Stampin' Up! is starting a monthly crafting kit subscription service called <a href="http://www.mypaperpumpkin.com/">Paper Pumpkin</a>! Why Paper Pumpkin? Because you get a bunch of paper/accessories and in half an hour of creativity, you can <i>transform</i> it into something beautiful!<br />
<br />
Every month for only $24.95 (shipping INCLUDED!) you'll get a kit that includes everything you need to make super cute projects. Ink, paper, stamps, accessories - the only thing you need to provide is adhesive. What an awesome idea! And because I went to Leadership, I have the first kit, the Welcome Kit, to show you!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwt_dON1u0TFSrEVJBSvGXgP7Ln893V3TQ2oI82uO6k0_89ghFNOjzltyp78BQz7X3Trt62wZM_Fo7gDBUYv_IO7ZfKqPSpxLUhfwytz0CUa2lGeJtREOtF9-0ISlicfQmBJxw9xPclsE/s1600/Paper+Pumpkin.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwt_dON1u0TFSrEVJBSvGXgP7Ln893V3TQ2oI82uO6k0_89ghFNOjzltyp78BQz7X3Trt62wZM_Fo7gDBUYv_IO7ZfKqPSpxLUhfwytz0CUa2lGeJtREOtF9-0ISlicfQmBJxw9xPclsE/s320/Paper+Pumpkin.jpg" width="229" /></a></div>
<br />
The whole thing comes in a super cute box with instructions. Right to your door :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiq_5nNl8oNCSGK85w-NHXs64GasXZJLM5fy7BxjQdhd3RuJogQBcIHUvybwPbOrttT9wMrRC05vQxm88QkkuTNowhU_lFS6ATv6w9l_9z3n1KOBB0HWy8mAMW77ECtqGe8FLWJaytLT94/s1600/Paper+Pumpkin+Welcome+1a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="294" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiq_5nNl8oNCSGK85w-NHXs64GasXZJLM5fy7BxjQdhd3RuJogQBcIHUvybwPbOrttT9wMrRC05vQxm88QkkuTNowhU_lFS6ATv6w9l_9z3n1KOBB0HWy8mAMW77ECtqGe8FLWJaytLT94/s320/Paper+Pumpkin+Welcome+1a.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
That's right - there's a D clear block in there! Your Welcome Kit (the first one you get after you sign up) has one in there in so you can stamp right away if you don't have one. And if you DO have one, well now you have another :)<br />
<br />
Here's what I made with the supplies given: one card following the directions, one card reversing the design.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpytk0_LhY1AQuXXsv2gNZ76AnSAYs65PNXILXbx_mpOKVsyKLCa-sXaruGkYNr9oy2z16nGMcTVnWx7vNO4UZLySwBZST5NBjI4pz4NCQbEW-1Phrg9RavtvC07cRlRFwyvZEYAg5xWM/s1600/Paper+Pumpkin+Welcome+Kit+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpytk0_LhY1AQuXXsv2gNZ76AnSAYs65PNXILXbx_mpOKVsyKLCa-sXaruGkYNr9oy2z16nGMcTVnWx7vNO4UZLySwBZST5NBjI4pz4NCQbEW-1Phrg9RavtvC07cRlRFwyvZEYAg5xWM/s320/Paper+Pumpkin+Welcome+Kit+3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />And then, adding a different ink color (Tempting Turquoise) and some White Baker's Twine/White Taffeta Ribbon, I created the following two cards (that's right, your kit makes <b>4 cards!</b>)<br />

The best thing about Paper Pumpkin is that you can sign up, stay with it a few months and cancel anytime :) You can get more information here on my <a href="http://stampsnjewels.blogspot.ca/p/paper-pumpkin.html">Paper Pumpkin Page</a> or if you LOVE it as much as I do, you can sign up at www.mypaperpumpkin.com. Remember to select me, Monica Hornof, Stittsville ON, as your Demonstrator and to selected the Canada tab at the top right.<br />
<br />
Here's one more idea for you - use the materials that come in the Paper Pumpkin Kit to create a card holder for the cards:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixJ3OTVONdGyjnSZ9kl2oHyuhASEX3dSh-_t6Ad2xknivmTppEOL3eWNgG09bR4QgSVQ0O-dCsOx0zb52WxIKqXbp5aHBU5pGQNUv4GQlAW6fOowUk2yIG-3mywi1hkRLOoGnrLDt9opI/s1600/Paper+Pumpkin+Welcome+Kit+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixJ3OTVONdGyjnSZ9kl2oHyuhASEX3dSh-_t6Ad2xknivmTppEOL3eWNgG09bR4QgSVQ0O-dCsOx0zb52WxIKqXbp5aHBU5pGQNUv4GQlAW6fOowUk2yIG-3mywi1hkRLOoGnrLDt9opI/s320/Paper+Pumpkin+Welcome+Kit+1.jpg" width="250" /></a></div>
<br />
I used chipboard from the kit and tore the piece in half. Then I punched out part of the adhesive embellishment leftovers for the top circle. The 'hey there friend' sentiment is also framed with embellishment leftovers... what a great way to get more mileage from your kit! <br />
<br />
I'm sooo excited about Paper Pumpkin that the 2nd Friday of every month I'm going to be holding a <b>Paper Pumpkin Palooza</b>! Bring your Paper Pumpkin supplies and you can use my ink, Big Shot, stamps and punches to make your projects even more fun! This event is FREE for anyone who signs up for Paper Pumpkin with me :) You'll also get a few free embellishments from me (if you're out of town, I'll mail these to you).<br />
<br />
Hope to be creating Paper Pumpkin projects with you soon! 'Til next time, keep letting stamps bring out <i>your </i>creativity. <br />

My family has been sick for the last two weeks and it looks like my body is (finally) succumbing as well :( I was hoping I was super-immune, but apparently not. I shouldn't be surprised though... in our house in less than two weeks we've had the flu (yes, the REAL flu), croup (2x), horrible colds, gastro (2x). So I suppose I was due.<br />
<br />
Today's cards are 3 others that I did for my Mom and Me Valentine's Class last week. This was such a fun class! The girls were all fantastic little stampers and we had a ball. I was impressed how efficiently we all worked. I'm looking forward to doing it again.<br />
<br />
I incorporated the <a href="http://palspaperarts.com/">Pals Paper Arts Challenge</a> in my cards, but especially this one below. The challenge was to use Primrose Petals, Real Red and Pool Party in our card. I think I accomplished that pretty well in the card below.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjO_p5RieZvt3Ks-uZmbNZdPDocsa7C7zlHtdyyFZI-TnvAg9_YYIiHtNlsHa2kjreVOUH_M3lacU3sdEOXsPNOUILUjCjwy21QQPHJFuoLA69m0evZDz3ZXTGxHUDjo-xItXfKK2xor8Q/s1600/Vday+7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjO_p5RieZvt3Ks-uZmbNZdPDocsa7C7zlHtdyyFZI-TnvAg9_YYIiHtNlsHa2kjreVOUH_M3lacU3sdEOXsPNOUILUjCjwy21QQPHJFuoLA69m0evZDz3ZXTGxHUDjo-xItXfKK2xor8Q/s400/Vday+7.jpg" width="295" /></a></div>
<br />
How cute is that little frog? I also couldn't resist using some of the <i>Silver Glimmer Paper</i> for one of my flags. It's just so sparkly :) I'm still loving that <i>Stitched In Color Ribbon</i>, too!<br />
<i> </i><br />
On my next card, I allowed the girls (and moms) to choose from a variety of images. It was easy with the <i>Spring Sampler</i> stamp set. They could make the cards a bit more girly, or more boyish if desired. I love this simple layout - it's one of my go-to's.<br />
<br />
And how about that ribbon? It's from the <i>Sale-a-Bration Sycamore Street Ribbon & Button Pack. </i>You get one Sale-a-bration item for every $60 you spend and this pack has 15 yards of ribbon and 24 gorgeous buttons - each in three colors!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVnTXb0ygAbDgajtFQ1Me2xlb3lzeavbX_4ZSLU-tMj7Qq_uqJx0Cia2W3MrNjsSJuChBBzxXFJ53NDyd8suVqUyZ1H4z00mWhLZLByIwAd3-koUifVEztOJc5f1Xg2K2VLwYVaaW3-0E/s1600/Vday+8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVnTXb0ygAbDgajtFQ1Me2xlb3lzeavbX_4ZSLU-tMj7Qq_uqJx0Cia2W3MrNjsSJuChBBzxXFJ53NDyd8suVqUyZ1H4z00mWhLZLByIwAd3-koUifVEztOJc5f1Xg2K2VLwYVaaW3-0E/s400/Vday+8.jpg" width="290" /></a></div>
<br />
Finally, I decided to use my <i>Hearts Embosslit</i> for my last card. It's a bit embarrassing, but I haven't actually used this embosslit yet. So I broke it out for this super simple but super cute card. And yes, I couldn't resist using more of that <i>Silver Glimmer Paper </i>;)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1AyL83tPLdq_ut9WcTXKOwVhz9RSc26dzGyD6wCVNV0H4t9MX5nghjkxnGY1iZmlqtrq3vNELT47QPUgbwix4oKJUIAbgD89wyIbQfuNBw9_XNZE0Q8zeTbagYN-T8Jt7dZGYGW1O1XU/s1600/Vday+3a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="287" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1AyL83tPLdq_ut9WcTXKOwVhz9RSc26dzGyD6wCVNV0H4t9MX5nghjkxnGY1iZmlqtrq3vNELT47QPUgbwix4oKJUIAbgD89wyIbQfuNBw9_XNZE0Q8zeTbagYN-T8Jt7dZGYGW1O1XU/s400/Vday+3a.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
What's great about these cards is that you can use them all as something other than Valentine's cards. Sure they have hearts - but I like to tell my friends and family that I love them with a few hearts pretty often ;)<br />
<br />
'Til next time, keep letting stamps bring out <i>your</i> creativity!<br />

I'm trying to stay on track with my posts, but sick kids and a sick husband (and who's kidding who, he's like a sick kid too ;) ) have thrown me of my game this week. But I have some great cards for you today. Yes, cardS :)<br />
<br />
I'm doing a mom-and-me Valentine's class tomorrow evening. We are using the <i>Note Cards and Envelopes</i>, the <i>Spring Sampler </i>stamp set and the <i>More Amore Specialty DSP </i>from the Spring Mini Catalogue. I can't tell you enough how much I absolutely LOVE the <i>More Amore DSP</i>. It is GORGEOUS and so easy to use. I especially love how easily the different patterns coordinate. Did I tell you I love it?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
My inspiration for this card was this week's <a href="http://www.freshlymadesketches.blogspot.ca/">Freshly Made Sketch</a>. I love the cut-off large element on the left. I used the <a href="http://trystampinontuesday.blogspot.com/">Try Stampin' On Tuesday</a> sketch for the next card.<br />

<b>Tips & Tricks:</b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4DR2LO5bga2bz8gUZ2Ie6FTmAC8326OlSAR7eepAHQyT3nKpIdkZSq3VEiqdmpbS4MCjuGn3UIg9v01R3AV6Zatje8PxcN_gTVEhwuzaspg8C2mYszWh9eVN6TKwXEadWHePce3lAEJY/s1600/Vday+2a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4DR2LO5bga2bz8gUZ2Ie6FTmAC8326OlSAR7eepAHQyT3nKpIdkZSq3VEiqdmpbS4MCjuGn3UIg9v01R3AV6Zatje8PxcN_gTVEhwuzaspg8C2mYszWh9eVN6TKwXEadWHePce3lAEJY/s320/Vday+2a.jpg" width="252" /></a></div>
*I was in a glitzy and glam kind of mood (plus I thought the kids would appreciate it) so I made sure to use the <i>Basic Jewels - Rhinestones</i> and <i>Silver Glimmer Paper </i>on every card. I find I can never give the <i>Glimmer Paper </i>justice through photos. It's so much more SILVER ;)<br />
*The<i> Notecards and Envelopes</i> are awesome. For just $7.95 you get 20 3-1/2"x5" note cards as well as envelopes in Whisper White. Perfect for that quick card or a set of cards.<br />
*I absolutely LOVE the laser-cut hearts in the <i>More Amore DSP</i>. So many ways I could use them...<br />
*I embossed the DSP on the second card with the <i>Square Lattice Embossing Folder</i>. I love how it gives paper, especially DSP, a fabric-like feel.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
*Wondering where the greeting is on the second card? I used the <i>Wacky Wishes</i> Hostess-only stamp set and stamped it *inside* the card :)<br />
<br />
I hope my guests enjoy the cards. These ones are pretty feminine, but I do have some masculine ones up my sleeve, too. 'Til next time, keep letting stamps bring out <i>your </i>creativity!<br />

She actually had many more 'best' friends, but we were able to cap it at 10. Thank goodness. Because as fun as it is crafting with eleven 6-9 year olds, it is crazy and exhausting! Luckily I had a good friend helping me. Funny thing is, she's not super crafty, but she was the one doing all the stamping and punching with the girls :D I think she's good for the rest of the year now with respect to craftiness ;)<br />
<br />
So what did we make? Well, my daughter wanted to make a card - so we made a Valentine's card for the girls' parents with the <i>Dress Up </i>stamp set as well as various Happy Valentine's Day greetings. But the bigger project was an 8x10 canvas. I wanted to keep the project simple. The girls were old enough to punch and stamp, but I also wanted to leave some room for their creativity.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhuLEkv0fzgGyPWmpbyA3Lhz1FzwhVgFUyfFcSOcinr7IGRNOJRZuRpjHtVRvBTBS7JSyz7ty3-sYKH2iFMqRYt2RQQI9GOl5liE0QZMLZ17nrZNSYldRAYkBs6nHLeT4czUWtV85m4z8/s1600/Anna+Canvas.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhuLEkv0fzgGyPWmpbyA3Lhz1FzwhVgFUyfFcSOcinr7IGRNOJRZuRpjHtVRvBTBS7JSyz7ty3-sYKH2iFMqRYt2RQQI9GOl5liE0QZMLZ17nrZNSYldRAYkBs6nHLeT4czUWtV85m4z8/s400/Anna+Canvas.jpg" width="348" /></a></div>
<br />
Each girl got their initial in <i>Silver Glimmer Paper</i> so that they could personalize their canvas. I focused the project around the <i>Floral District DSP </i>because it's so pretty and girly. I thought the girls would love it and I was right :) Here are a few <b>Tips & Tricks</b> I've learned along the way on stamping with kids:<br /><br />
*Keep it simple! Leave a lot of room for personalization. Every single girl had a completely different canvas when she was finished. Only two loosely followed my example. The other nine did their own thing. It's one of the things I love so much about stamping with kids - the uninhibited creativity.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgO53ktXY5G2wq2-ZrqvGTjMsjFWkL-vnkPj0EVtqVM5XGto3lCE6ISb00rqCmixnuDBOrGPkx1Ck0_mg_KzciaPxaBqxu2olYb_p37_RY3t2JqXpcecYbe3ufSj8EZZxPSqOduMCor3vU/s1600/Anna+Canvas+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgO53ktXY5G2wq2-ZrqvGTjMsjFWkL-vnkPj0EVtqVM5XGto3lCE6ISb00rqCmixnuDBOrGPkx1Ck0_mg_KzciaPxaBqxu2olYb_p37_RY3t2JqXpcecYbe3ufSj8EZZxPSqOduMCor3vU/s200/Anna+Canvas+2.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>
*Have a lot of extra DSP and card stock on hand. I let the girls go crazy with the <i>Full Heart </i>and <i>Blossom Punches</i>, and crazy they went. They used nearly five full sheets of DSP! I kept cutting more to keep them happy. They were punching and gluing flowers and hearts everywhere!<br />
*Do the ribbon tying for them. It will avoid wasted ribbon as well as frustration. Many adult stampers have a hard time with ribbon and bows, the kids will too (for the record, I adhered their ribbon and tied the bow where they wanted it).<br />
*Offer them some personalization. The girls were THRILLED to have their initial for the canvas.<br />
*You can never go wrong with bling. <i>Silver Glimmer Paper</i> and <i>Basic Jewels</i> were definitely popular!<br />
*Use wood mount stamps. They won't fall of the block and are less likely to get lost. <br />
<br />
To show you I'm not a one trick pony, I made the cake below for my daughter's birthday as well. She wanted a Barbie cake. She didn't tell me how she wanted it decorated but I think I know her pretty well because she said it was exactly what she'd imagined :)<br />

I hope these little tips are helpful if you're ever stamping with kids! The girls had a blast and you know what? So did I! :) 'Til next time, keep letting stamps bring out <i>your </i>creativity!<br />

And this year was no different. We were spoiled and one of the stamps we received was the <i>Just Thinking</i> single stamp. I love it! Coordinates perfectly with the <i>2-1/2" Circle Punch</i> as well as the <i>Window Frames Framelits</i>. I'm always on the lookout for a great stamp that works well for masculine AND feminine cards and this stamp definitely fits the bill.<br />
<br />

<br />
I used this weeks <a href="http://trystampinontuesday.blogspot.com/">Try Stampin' on Tuesday</a> sketch for my card inspiration. Can you believe, however, I don't have the coordinating <i>Framelits</i> yet? Unbelievable, I know. So I improvised and stamped my image in Early Espresso on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock. Then I stamped the image again in Lucky Limeade on another piece of card stock and put it over the Espresso image with <i>Dimensionals</i>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<b>Tips & Tricks:</b><br />
*Do you like the Early Espresso background? I used the new <i>Vine Street Embossing Folder</i>, available in the Sale-a-Bration Brochure. What's SAB? It's only our BEST promotion! For every $60 you spend in product, you get to choose a FREE item from the <a href="http://204.228.150.61/catalogs/flash/en-CA/2013_SAB_4j390f/20130122_SAB_en-CA.pdf">brochure</a>!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgae_pJUzmf5TDRrEyZA_PTNGCr-ixmVQkFo9OHRlefmQoMmubKflGKR2NemWXA0EtfLx-7tG_VceWQZw_TdPPqsdQmIvkSCc_4JRrQncuFENR3p_lCM_WkQ-jhS3_L-x4XYLaFSYZNvQs/s1600/TSOT+103+2a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="183" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgae_pJUzmf5TDRrEyZA_PTNGCr-ixmVQkFo9OHRlefmQoMmubKflGKR2NemWXA0EtfLx-7tG_VceWQZw_TdPPqsdQmIvkSCc_4JRrQncuFENR3p_lCM_WkQ-jhS3_L-x4XYLaFSYZNvQs/s200/TSOT+103+2a.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
*Do you see how my punched out element seems to be missing some ink? This was intentional! I colored it with my Lucky Limeade Marker because I didn't want to include 'friend' in the sentiment. Then I intentionally roughed the image up by not coloring all the edges.<br />
*I haven't used <i>Linen Thread</i> to tie around my card and make a bow in a long time. I love the natural look of it. I added a clear <i>Bitty Button</i> to the center of the bow.<br />
<br />
I made this card for a Card Brigade that I organized. It's a little group of people that will send a card to someone needing an 'Avalanche of Love' - just a little random act of kindness that can make someone's day a bit brighter. Interested? I actually don't have too many Valentine's stamps, I like using DSP and making Valentines nice and simple. I do have the <i>Delightful Dozen </i>greeting stamp set which has some pretty fantastic, ornate greetings.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvmMgzoNVM_oVF14mf3biBBQ_yTFsfep15UItgclbbBiT9stY0yRMn5Pg6FRx9myXxqQIH9Y1BuYwUBq5S5z8a4pgBVylZ5cRSBeWkXV0MA-jshXrc3HJNuKTmmBLDnj6RFC28jMA6UZI/s1600/TSOT+102+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvmMgzoNVM_oVF14mf3biBBQ_yTFsfep15UItgclbbBiT9stY0yRMn5Pg6FRx9myXxqQIH9Y1BuYwUBq5S5z8a4pgBVylZ5cRSBeWkXV0MA-jshXrc3HJNuKTmmBLDnj6RFC28jMA6UZI/s320/TSOT+102+3.jpg" width="254" /></a></div>
<br />
I got sketch inspiration for my card from <a href="http://trystampinontuesday.blogspot.com/">Try Stampin' On Tuesday</a>. A lovely simple sketch. Instead of the traditional color red, I thought I'd mix it up a bit and use Raspberry Ripple as well as the <i>Print Poetry DSP</i>. I love how my two-toned card turned out.<b> </b><br />
<br />
<b>Tips & Tricks:</b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhSAY9fsBa7eohEB3R0rkHBWwtDCq0k0lTwStOI8M0XhH3-tB6Xdv0HMOCIyBqbJUlz4tcS8XMP-oVlR63fMtE30gGwMUbzOv16V57I2yYCMhuUtwx4V9zxEg56FNBKfUyts62-F5ArUM/s1600/TSOT+102+2a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhSAY9fsBa7eohEB3R0rkHBWwtDCq0k0lTwStOI8M0XhH3-tB6Xdv0HMOCIyBqbJUlz4tcS8XMP-oVlR63fMtE30gGwMUbzOv16V57I2yYCMhuUtwx4V9zxEg56FNBKfUyts62-F5ArUM/s320/TSOT+102+2a.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
*Did you notice that the whole card was embossed? I got a card at Leadership and after putting her card together, the demonstrator embossed the whole thing. So I did the same, embossing all the layers, with the <i>Fancy Fan Embossing Folder</i>. I love the look of the embossed DSP and greeting.<br />
*The heart in the greeting seemed a little too empty, so I added the largest pearl from the <i>Basic Pearls</i> embellishments. It just adds that little je-ne-sais-quoi to my card.<br />
*I am still loving the notched out flagged look that is so 'in' right now! An easy little added touch with my <i>Paper Snips</i>.<br />
<br />
You've got to forgive my pictures. I'm still trying to sort out the best place and way to photograph my cards and projects. I'll get there though and hope you'll hang in there with me. 'Til next time, keep letting stamps bring out <i>your</i> creativity!<br />

I just love Baja Breeze for baby boys and Pink Pirouette for baby girls so the <i>Twitterpated DSP</i> seemed like the logical choice.<br />
<br />
I haven't used the <i>Baby Boutique</i> stamp set enough so I broke it out along with the <i>Hearts Framelits </i>for my new baby cards. This week's <a href="http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/">Freshly Made Sketch</a> worked perfectly for a new baby card:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

*I love how the hexagons in this <i>Twitterpated DSP </i>pattern coordinate perfectly with the new <i>Honeycomb Embossing Folder</i>. Just snip them out and randomly put on your card for a fun pattern.<br />
*To give your heart a little extra pizzazz, do a little paper piercing! SU! makes it easy with the <i>Occasions Paper Piercing Pack</i>. With the redesigned <i>Paper Piercer</i> and larger <i>Piercing Mat </i>you're sure to have a perfectly pierced image every time.<br />
*My go-to 'greetings' stamp set is still <i>Teeny Tiny Wishes</i>. The cute saying, different fonts, you'll never need another set!<br />
<br />
I hope the new moms love their cards. I love how they all came together! There's quite a few elements, but they're so simple. 'Til next time, keep letting stamps bring out <i>your</i> creativity!<br />

I'd been thinking about buying the set and was thrilled to find out we were getting it with our kit!<br />
<br />
It's so versatile and coordinates perfectly with the <i>Ovals Framelits</i>. I've had a few sympathy and 'thinking of you' cards to send out this week, so I used this stamp set and a lovely sketch from <a href="http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/">Freshly Made Sketches</a> (though I did take a few creative liberties).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5FMN_2zPZcN-0ce0E9qulKJNI7I4w8amxQ_Z_G4301GOtUS7GT6EJ9I896VaieFeYymN4ZUDcdhpq6A-SdXyzgRHHO7lOtysTaaTFJdwKgq2P3oPsJ0CCpo5t7Ze5PsySVudFUz8m0EU/s1600/FMS+69+1a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="305" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5FMN_2zPZcN-0ce0E9qulKJNI7I4w8amxQ_Z_G4301GOtUS7GT6EJ9I896VaieFeYymN4ZUDcdhpq6A-SdXyzgRHHO7lOtysTaaTFJdwKgq2P3oPsJ0CCpo5t7Ze5PsySVudFUz8m0EU/s400/FMS+69+1a.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I used the 'chevron' stamp from the <i>Oh, Hello</i> stamp set and colored it with markers for the accents on the ends. I also cut it apart. And doesn't the chevron background for the flower look like DSP? Love that stamp as well as the new ink pads which make everything so crisp!<br />
<br />
<b>Tips & Tricks:</b><br />
<br />
*I wasn't sure about the <i>Natural Trim Ribbon </i>from the Mini. But it's so soft and I love how it frays on the ends ever so gently.<br />
*The <i>Needlepoint Border Textured Impressions Embossing Folders</i> are just lovely. They add a very gentle and sweet accent to your projects. For this card, I simply placed it diagonally along my Midnight Muse layer.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGI1SIZ3AkvoSfpHIMgEBIc3MpvU6T4UeGhIUxkIRDU_cS5w40N9lZ6Dg4cXWeeZR-eRBPvrHbuf-qJDqmr34jbJT3nBsc-WD1Aqbo9P6K9-uTPut9kH-caaGZKImoOyCMucrx-FGi4a8/s1600/FMS+69+2a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="232" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGI1SIZ3AkvoSfpHIMgEBIc3MpvU6T4UeGhIUxkIRDU_cS5w40N9lZ6Dg4cXWeeZR-eRBPvrHbuf-qJDqmr34jbJT3nBsc-WD1Aqbo9P6K9-uTPut9kH-caaGZKImoOyCMucrx-FGi4a8/s320/FMS+69+2a.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
*The <i>Tea Lace Paper Doilies</i>. Need I say more? For $3.95/24 doilies, they're not only a great value but so versatile! Here I cut one in half, cut the edges off and layered the them under my oval accent.<br />
<br />
I hope this card brightens someone day a bit in a time that may not be so bright. 'Til next time, keep letting stamps bring out <i>your </i>creativity!<br />

I took another break. I don't know what to say, just that I needed it. On Sunday, I came back from Stampin' Up!'s Leadership Conference in Orlando FL and I'm full of ideas! And ready to share :)<br />
<br />
I want to show you my Leadership Swap. I used the <i>Spring Sampler</i> stamp set in the Spring Mini. It's a pretty big stamp set, with some super cute images but I hadn't seen many samples using it. So I figured my swap would stand out... and it did! I had a few demos fighting over who'd get my last few swaps. Made me feel pretty good!<br />

<b> </b>*Do you like the embossed background? It's the new <i>Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder</i>. It's a bit like the <i>Polka Dot</i> Embossing Folder - works well with men's cards, women's cards as well as kids cards!<br />
*You can punch out most of the images in the <i>Spring Sampler</i> stamp set with the new <i>7/8" Scallop Circle Punch</i>... isn't it cute?<br />
*The button, 1/4" satin ribbon and DSP are samples from the upcoming Sale-a-bration (starts January 22nd) Sycamore Street Suite. A free product for every $60 you spend!<br />
<br />
I'm so glad my swap was well received but I'm going to be very busy making many more projects in the coming weeks. Do you have projects on the go? Join me at my Friday Free-for-All Class this week. Isn't this the sweetest stamp? There's just something super cute and adorable about those snow men. They've got cute little hats, scarves and what about the birds? For this reason, I decided to do a class using this stamp. Best of all, your class fee includes the stamp :) It's a watercoloring technique class. Check out the first card that I've designed for <a href="https://www.facebook.com/events/516145005064413/">the class on November 24th</a>:<br />

<br />
My inspiration for this card came from this week's <a href="http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/">Freshly Made Sketches Challenge</a>. We had a fantastic, simple sketch to work with and other than the greeting, I stayed pretty true to the sketch.<b> </b><br />
<br />
<b>Tips & Tricks:</b><br />
*How awesome is the <i>Snow Festival Designer Series Paper</i>? So many gorgeous patterns all stitched together!<br />
*To change up the look of your favorite punches, use a smaller sentiment and only half (or less) of the punch! That's what I did here with the <i>Designer Label Punch</i>.<br />
*When watercoloring, it's much easier to blend your colors when using our <i>Watercolor Paper</i>. It's 140 lbs cold-pressed high quality watercolor paper.<br />

It was a much needed break. I've been on Facebook, though not as much, and I've still been in my stampin' room. I've been doing some birthday cards, I made some Hallowe'en projects and now I've been working on cards for my next Crazy 4 Christmas card class next Friday November 16th.<br />

<br />
<i>Snow Swirled</i> was one of my first Stampin' Up! Christmas sets and it's still my favorite! There's just something so magical about this tree. For my class, I think I'll add in a bit of <i>Champagne Glimmer Paper</i>. <br />

The <i>Snow Festival DSP </i>in the Holiday Mini is so pretty! Vibrant colors, fun prints. And do you like the silver Merry Christmas? I used the <i>Silver Stampin' Dazzle Marker.</i><br />

We will be making these two cards and two others! Hope you can make it - it's a steal at $30 or FREE with a $50 order.<br />

Not as much as Christmas, but there's something so fun about kids running around in costumes, super excited and totally juiced up on sugar ;) My favorite Hallowe'en stamp sets are the cutesy kiddie ones. Which is why I especially loved the <i>Googly Ghouls </i>stamp set in the Holiday Mini. How can you NOT love witches, ghosts, bats and googly eyes??? Best of all, SU!'s <i>Googly Eyes</i> have glue dots on them so they're easy to stick onto your project.<br />
<br />
This week, two of my favorite challenges, <a href="http://trystampinontuesday.blogspot.ca/">Try Stampin' on Tuesday</a> and <a href="http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.ca/">Freshly Made Sketches</a> had sketches that were just perfect for scrap page layouts. And they worked really well together. So I worked it the best I could :) First, the <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8_cl2GnAUuCb5iAqipCNO_m0NR6iZuBDpxaO6gBTOrdeF-FVytYBGMdJ7OARktI3BqqK5F_doVVe0s0Grc0fdpPn7lMT4NyOSOL6BSj1bdPhx4jWZCWpzE2bYoQBQCF41alAYY1mwX4lM/s400/FMS56.png">Freshly Made Sketch</a>:<br />

<br />
I used the <i>Howlstooth and Scaringbone DSP</i> for my layouts. I really love the way the Tangerine Tango color pops. It's so vibrant! My second page is using the <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHGtcbsblfrxmvskBeraHY8n-CzF1YuXrvBeYoWn9qG25wNHXK8_QNaSFpGlohyphenhyphenL-7AbhJZAhBsfbWKA6DjXjdnz_45941SSPcoGu5R4e6NONri9F1PTC3rglDYKUb8Sa9zvNc0ZJ8wKI/s1600/TST+Setch+%2387.jpg">Try Stampin' on Tuesday Sketch</a>:<br />

*Not sure where to start with your scrapbook layouts? If you started out as a card maker like me, you may be a bit intimidated. I used a tip from a fellow stamper - approach it like it's a card and build on it. My photo mat is the image mat from the card. I added the 'BOOO 2012' to the left to build on my page. See how simple it is?<br />
*My flagged element on the the second page seemed a little plain. Yet I didn't want to use DSP because I thought it would be too busy. So I embossed it with the <i>Spider Web Embossing Folder</i>. Love how it turned out! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

*I absolutely love the <i>Wacky Wishes </i>hostess set. I wasn't sure about it when I first saw it. But it's so fun and cute! It worked so well on my second page. <br />
*Aren't the <i>Googly Ghouls</i> just adorable? Just stamp, punch out and stick on a few <i>Googly Eyes</i>. :)<br />
<br />
Once we have all our fun Hallowe'en photos, I'm going to do a class Saturday November 24th so that we can scrap them without a delay :) See my <a href="http://stampsnjewels.blogspot.ca/p/stampin-classes.html">Class List</a> for more information :)<br />

And they're more gorgeous than ever this year. Every day they seem to be getting more intense, more colorful. The trees are full of colors like Cajun Craze and More Mustard. Which is why I thought that the <a href="http://www.palspaperarts.com/">Pals Paper Arts Challenge</a> this week was so fitting. We were asked to use the colors More Mustard, Cajun Craze and Early Espresso.<br />

<a href="http://trystampinontuesday.blogspot.com/">Try Stampin' on Tuesday</a> had a most fantastic sketch for us to work with this week, as well. So simple, yet so many possibilities! And we all know I just love to mix up different DSPs. Why stick to just one package? lol! On this card I mixed together <i>Comfort Cafe </i>and <i>Candlelight Christmas</i>.<br />
<br />
<b>Tips & Tricks:</b><br />
*The Espresso pattern I used from <i>Candlelight Christmas</i> has large snowflakes on it, but I cut them off enough so it doesn't look as Christmas-y. Because that's not what I was going for ;)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
*I'm loving the <i>7/8" Cotton Ribbon</i>. You can stamp on it! And the <i>Lacy & Lovely</i> has stamps that are perfectly sized for it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKrpxURIximfIXz3nPpmXqB0eqw_VfTJ2qfGtD7jRot17wpxCKtCmjAebT6kPRgFHlYHrvDr__0dwVpn946cjv188ZXNWDpZdllbNMEPWVTEUfwjD8bd55fOpmu3xmmDQuWm7SuYlZi3w/s1600/PPA+144+4a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKrpxURIximfIXz3nPpmXqB0eqw_VfTJ2qfGtD7jRot17wpxCKtCmjAebT6kPRgFHlYHrvDr__0dwVpn946cjv188ZXNWDpZdllbNMEPWVTEUfwjD8bd55fOpmu3xmmDQuWm7SuYlZi3w/s320/PPA+144+4a.jpg" width="275" /></a></div>
*I love stamp sets like <i>Lacy & Lovely </i>and <i>Delicate Doilies</i>. The larger stamps that work coordinate together are perfect for creating a custom look on any neutral surface. This card is super simple - just a Very Vanilla base with strips of DSP!<br />
*Love flagging but can't get your card stock/ribbon flagged evenly on both sides? Check out this quick tip. Cut a slit down the centre of your card stock/ribbon (like on the <i>Cotton Ribbon</i>). Then cut from one corner of the DSP down to the end of the slit (you're cutting a diagonal, see the <i>Candlelight Christmas DSP</i>). Finally cut out the second notch from the opposite corner (like on the <i>Comfort Cafe DSP</i>). And voila - easy flagging! <br />
<br />

I hope this card inspires you to simplify your cards a bit ;) Sometimes simple is best! To my Canadian followers, I hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving! 'Til next time, keep letting stamps bring out <i>your</i> creativity!<br />

Since we moved into our new home a few weeks ago, I'm going to be hosting Thanksgiving this year (usually this is my Mother-in-Law's job ;) ). Being a crafter, I wanted to make some of my own decor for the occasion. We'll be having about 14 people and these will be the table centerpieces:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0WEn0w0RWhbA-BneXNU-PEj9mscEJ48HLzuMJq8GAhKFV8Uz04pim_IFBCeRD86O3wUb2U3MV7YfYGyrmPb-8k7Zklrgx9hfrx_BfcYBDAtYig3TXYwncwZwCJQrLI_M7EnUhuGRwsfY/s1600/Thanksgiving+Decor+1a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0WEn0w0RWhbA-BneXNU-PEj9mscEJ48HLzuMJq8GAhKFV8Uz04pim_IFBCeRD86O3wUb2U3MV7YfYGyrmPb-8k7Zklrgx9hfrx_BfcYBDAtYig3TXYwncwZwCJQrLI_M7EnUhuGRwsfY/s400/Thanksgiving+Decor+1a.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I had a few sources of inspiration... This week, the <a href="http://www.fridaymashup.com/">Friday Mashup Challenge</a> asked us to make a 'fall leaves' project and/or use twine on our project. This was perfect, because this week the leaves in the Ottawa area are a gorgeous red/burnt orange and they have been inspiring me too. The candle on the left is made with the <i>Gently Falling</i> stamp set. The candle on the right is made with real leaves from our backyard :) Curious on how I made them? Stay tuned for a tutorial.<br />
<br />
In addition, I wanted to make my own placeholders. They were pretty time consuming, but 100% worth it!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoCThIMeJiRqWQ4QJzUrS9C6srmtbIfb8jDO-u6V6XEF0iFo2F51muqIN-G3wzjPfgHo4FnutdS4doE8_iZSTsENwEOw0aa8H9U_9M2ANa6Tfj_aRkbKCitexxksmJkusaO0nGf6k7QGI/s1600/Thanksgiving+decor+4a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="280" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoCThIMeJiRqWQ4QJzUrS9C6srmtbIfb8jDO-u6V6XEF0iFo2F51muqIN-G3wzjPfgHo4FnutdS4doE8_iZSTsENwEOw0aa8H9U_9M2ANa6Tfj_aRkbKCitexxksmJkusaO0nGf6k7QGI/s320/Thanksgiving+decor+4a.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
For both my candle and placeholder bases, I used the <i>Comfort Cafe DSP</i> and the <i>Bigz XL Rosette Die</i>. When I saw the <i>Silver Setting</i> stamp in the new catalogue, I just knew I had to use it for placeholders. Embossed in gold. What's holding the name cards? An old-school wooden clothes pin!<br />
<br />
Love the Tulle Rosettes? They are soooo easy to make. This idea was original presented by Shelli Gardner herself at the Hamilton Regional in August this year. I wasn't able to attend (I was moving that day!) but I was fortunate that a fellow demonstrator shared the rosette with us.<br />
<br />
You'll need a big sewing needle (check out your local dollar store if you don't have one ;) ), <i>Linen Thread</i> or <i>Baker's Twine </i>(about 8"), and about 30" of the <i>Scalloped Tulle </i>in the Holiday Mini (available in Early Espresso - seen here, Cherry Cobbler or Crumb Cake). Simply run the needle and twine through the centre of the tulle. Let it bunch up because that's the end effect anyhow. It doesn't have to be threaded evenly, just through the centre at 1/2" to 1" intervals:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXvmtdkRVEnwmzc3oGlqYZB9GpPgrP9X6e4iPULZryymVagP2H0RitNCj477CU85lKPSvdHvPBXbCggNSSusOUhcHJtRxiyLb2A6gBSYlTNWaLC3V_zNsvcIicRK21C7MHGjOJ8NDrXw8/s1600/Tulle+Rosette++1a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="217" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXvmtdkRVEnwmzc3oGlqYZB9GpPgrP9X6e4iPULZryymVagP2H0RitNCj477CU85lKPSvdHvPBXbCggNSSusOUhcHJtRxiyLb2A6gBSYlTNWaLC3V_zNsvcIicRK21C7MHGjOJ8NDrXw8/s400/Tulle+Rosette++1a.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Once you've run the <i>Linen Thread </i>through the entire length of tulle, scrunch it up with even lengths of twine on each side and tie the twine in a knot. The tulle will fan out into a rosette as shown below.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1hB2tYiiNt0b5QID0PVN0Gm26tQngDiMgmz-TuEFE9DD7CAMaDxbp9GRqF3s4BuYmw3-eh5dNRkszZNs5BiTYUSw2nCoZhGcmy3wNK9stMhX57gKu3NeK7sOs_RTm7kAW4IPWs_6Z-3k/s1600/Tulle+Rosette+2a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1hB2tYiiNt0b5QID0PVN0Gm26tQngDiMgmz-TuEFE9DD7CAMaDxbp9GRqF3s4BuYmw3-eh5dNRkszZNs5BiTYUSw2nCoZhGcmy3wNK9stMhX57gKu3NeK7sOs_RTm7kAW4IPWs_6Z-3k/s320/Tulle+Rosette+2a.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
You can use a button to finish it off since you already have two lengths of twine. I really hope that my guests like the decor. I wanted to do more, but the placeholders and candles took WAY more time than I expected ;) Don't these things always! 'Til next time, keep letting stamps bring out <i>your</i> creativity! And to my Canadian followers, have a fantastic Thanksgiving!<br />

And that means another <a href="http://sundaystamps.blogspot.com/">Sunday Stamps Challenge</a>. The design team that we have for this challenge is really great because they keep challenging me. :) This week, <a href="http://j-jcreations.blogspot.ca/">Joan</a> brings us a color challenge: Gumball Green, Marina Mist and Soft Suede. I love all three of these colors but never would have thought to put them together.<br />
<br />
Last week, I also got the super cute Hostess Exclusive set, <i>Carry On</i>
in an order and really wanted to use it. But I couldn't choose which
stamps from the set I should use. So, I used all of them :) I made a set
of little mini note cards along with a little box to hold them all. I
mixed and matched all the challenge colors in the note cards. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghDZYIfnA10n6FWL8Cv1khxejjqh4r2HonRtgjRkt8hXAx_73GVn9s-Np9p05FFh_K4ngTsKbTqVbNDTtvAZHJ-rSaRjBmntAijV5zcBEn8RPkUfXyDTz_HNCEVYz3ljKxczeYU21ZOhM/s1600/SS+17+1a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="185" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghDZYIfnA10n6FWL8Cv1khxejjqh4r2HonRtgjRkt8hXAx_73GVn9s-Np9p05FFh_K4ngTsKbTqVbNDTtvAZHJ-rSaRjBmntAijV5zcBEn8RPkUfXyDTz_HNCEVYz3ljKxczeYU21ZOhM/s400/SS+17+1a.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I ordered this stamp set in clear mount and I'm really glad I did. I was able to mount the word stamps together on one block and have perfectly spaced words. My cards are 3"x3" note cards and they fit perfectly in the <i>Mini Envelopes</i>. I love how the picture stamps are small enough to decorate my envelopes, too.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzilmqBZfnkS04cpfVj8ePoz-hHORIvGU6np6b7u_5Ta8H8DkIulw60LNkN6QqEZTFjdFeLdepDkap31GmgBZ518y3El7AXbCE8mhMtiI6lMuqy0Hb85msR5aA8l144YQ5nOebgzePZ1s/s1600/Note+Card+Boxa.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzilmqBZfnkS04cpfVj8ePoz-hHORIvGU6np6b7u_5Ta8H8DkIulw60LNkN6QqEZTFjdFeLdepDkap31GmgBZ518y3El7AXbCE8mhMtiI6lMuqy0Hb85msR5aA8l144YQ5nOebgzePZ1s/s400/Note+Card+Boxa.jpg" width="298" /></a>I came up with the pattern for the little box on my own. Below is the pattern. It's handdrawn, so please bear with me. My sister is visiting from Germany and I haven't had much time to stamp ;) You'll need a piece of card stock that is 5-1/4" x 9-1/4" in size (there's a small typo on my pattern, the piece of card stock that will be the flap of the box should be 3/4"). Score at 1" and 4-1/4" on the short side. Score at 1", 4-1/4", 5-1/4" and 8-1/2" on the long side. Cut on the 'cut' lines, fold on the 'fold' lines and put your box together with a strong adhesive such as <i>Sticky Strip</i>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUW6LSmkECUF9PGr9y-xsMGubn_1_41KCkNTue0UhCRB01iRJjppxXbXMBvXLpHDCqOR_ZhDtOBaGtZSfCiencW8xwcxhPz2tmYxNL5D9k20Q5zdwp3KVJti4iKdZpp_mIqAygWyIjc3Y/s1600/SS+17+2a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="301" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUW6LSmkECUF9PGr9y-xsMGubn_1_41KCkNTue0UhCRB01iRJjppxXbXMBvXLpHDCqOR_ZhDtOBaGtZSfCiencW8xwcxhPz2tmYxNL5D9k20Q5zdwp3KVJti4iKdZpp_mIqAygWyIjc3Y/s320/SS+17+2a.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
To decorate my box, I used the <i>Be of Good Cheer DSP</i> (Gumball Green polka dot pattern) and the <i>Comfort Cafe DSP</i> (Soft Suede patterns).<br />
<br />
Hope you liked my little box and the note cards. It would definitely make a super cute gift, you could even fill it with Christmas tags. 'Til next time, keep letting stamps bring out <i>your</i> creativity!<br />

I wasn't too fond of the <i>Scentsational Season</i> when I first saw it. I got it in wood-mount because it seemed so childlike and my 6-year-old daughter said she'd like to stamp with it (and she has :) ). But then I saw a few cards made with this set that I thought were cute and I've had fun with it. Funny how that happens ;)<br />
<br />
I saw a super cute card somewhere, can't remember where now, but it had the gingerbread men in the stamp set tumbling all over the place. Using that card and the <a href="http://trystampinontuesday.blogspot.com/">Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge </a>as my starting point, I came up with this:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmuJmiZOHfavpFPiDGosid7oQt8THUiJzm5tuNMroe7Iy94JmI_iZHexqjO62qTlBH1F1YPhW28ESgU74U6wAL9dAnXSFOQlzrFYvb6HJY6t9RoygPCphd4JFBvzsZZa4h6KgU39DZu1c/s1600/Gingerbread+Men+1a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="311" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmuJmiZOHfavpFPiDGosid7oQt8THUiJzm5tuNMroe7Iy94JmI_iZHexqjO62qTlBH1F1YPhW28ESgU74U6wAL9dAnXSFOQlzrFYvb6HJY6t9RoygPCphd4JFBvzsZZa4h6KgU39DZu1c/s400/Gingerbread+Men+1a.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I have this cookie cutter that has gingerbread men with body parts cut off - arm, leg, head. So I thought that would be a fun way to make this card a bit unique :) I used the <i>1-1/4" Scallop Circle Punch</i> to create the bite marks.<br />
<br />
<b>Tips & Tricks:</b><br />
*Have you tried the new <i>Coredinations Card Stock</i>? It has a natural core so when you sand it down the core shows through. I love the look with lacy and intricate embossing folders. Makes it look antiqued!<br />

<br />
*Even though you can't smell through the computer, imagine a lovely gingerbread smell coming from my gingerbread men. I embossed them with the <i>Sugar & Spice Embossing Powder</i>. I love how the embossing powder gives them that 'gingerbread-y' look.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEix7J__aGC2OJOzKa6HX-pHrrzsdyE2TD25wld05fJuEJMC0b-86vHLDU0fRPsloHiaR2UGLx63mJmELA225bkZ7VtJnltTUYf2BEMJuZKQ2hW5boaM4dVrM4xjNFOmYXYD4ZcIEvCU0ww/s1600/Gingerbread+Men+2a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEix7J__aGC2OJOzKa6HX-pHrrzsdyE2TD25wld05fJuEJMC0b-86vHLDU0fRPsloHiaR2UGLx63mJmELA225bkZ7VtJnltTUYf2BEMJuZKQ2hW5boaM4dVrM4xjNFOmYXYD4ZcIEvCU0ww/s320/Gingerbread+Men+2a.jpg" width="214" /></a></div>
*As much as I love my punches, sometimes I like to just stamp on a scrap piece of card stock and 'flag' it. To ensure perfectly centered notches, snip your cardstock right down the middle and then snip diagonally to the middle point. Voila, perfectly formed flag.<br />
*To add a bit more vintage feel, I sponged my greeting with Soft Suede and peeled apart the very Vanilla card stock. I used my <i>Bone Folder</i> to tease the card stock and then simply pulled apart the layers.<br />
<br />
I can't wait to send this car away for Christmas. And I can't wait to play around with this stamp set a bit more. :) 'Til next time, keep letting stamps bring out <i>your</i> creativity!<br />

I've been working on a lot of Christmas cards and this week I wanted to make something that wasn't so festive. I also wanted to use something other than my Christmas stamps. So using Tara's Sketch for the <a href="http://sundaystamps.blogspot.com/">Sunday Stamps Challenge</a>, I decided to play around and use the <i>Quintessential Flower</i> single stamp as well as the <i>Daydream Medallions</i> stamp set.<br />
<br />
Not only that, but I went with super bright, summery colors :) Tara had said that her sketch was a launching point, to use our imaginations. And we all know I don't like to follow the 'rules' anyways. So, instead of the tag, I used the gorgeous flower and this is what I came up with :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvOyk9kdC9DZjCgFoxtzy3b1NZEsNA1mOBKB1ZSe73ONfHG8y68sA7txciVvuwpH5qCwqxpEaDzfLhLsg0CWj2xVx2lBl-ZlvV_Gi4iWSvFJDsY9IlAqy_UU7X4t6bhtMqT8F2Sf5yJ2Y/s1600/SS+16+1a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvOyk9kdC9DZjCgFoxtzy3b1NZEsNA1mOBKB1ZSe73ONfHG8y68sA7txciVvuwpH5qCwqxpEaDzfLhLsg0CWj2xVx2lBl-ZlvV_Gi4iWSvFJDsY9IlAqy_UU7X4t6bhtMqT8F2Sf5yJ2Y/s320/SS+16+1a.jpg" width="241" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<b>Tips & Tricks:</b><br />
*If you're not afraid of a little bit of texture, layer two embossed pieces of card stock on top of each other. I used the <i>Vintage Wallpaper</i> embossing folder to emboss my Summer Starfruit layer as well as the Raspberry Ripple Strip.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDQsL4jVrAsmrI1dAxzpGf8JvcYQTlR9U_yL22_mLywNMDELzY4PGkcMtaJeO57RrAiBlDeJueczhhadeLb8ynn2bUQYPg74g48JNmmDqbsigEdPLqIvN67YhtZ1KZpgj5NutcvnX3R2M/s1600/SS+16+2a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDQsL4jVrAsmrI1dAxzpGf8JvcYQTlR9U_yL22_mLywNMDELzY4PGkcMtaJeO57RrAiBlDeJueczhhadeLb8ynn2bUQYPg74g48JNmmDqbsigEdPLqIvN67YhtZ1KZpgj5NutcvnX3R2M/s320/SS+16+2a.jpg" width="271" /></a></div>
*I tore the top corner of my Summer Starfruit card stock because something was missing. But then I tore too big a piece off. So I stamped the Quintessential Flower on my Raspberry card stock and voila - fixed! As I always tell my my stampers, most of the time, 'mistakes' can be fixed ;)<br />
*I absolutely LOVE that the <i>Quintessential Flower</i> coordinates with our scalloped circle and circle punches. I made my layered flower in less than five minutes!<br />
*Doesn't the <i>medallion</i> make a fabulous background for my flower? It was easy to cut out with the <i>Floral Frames Framelits</i>, too.<br />
*I wanted a nice, bright card and the 2012-2014 In Colors definitely fit the bill! And then I topped it off with a Summer Starfruit <i>In Color Dahlia</i>. :)<br />
<br />
I left the card without a greeting. While it would make a fantastic birthday card, it could be a thank you card or a 'just because' card. So I decided to not close any doors ;) 'Til next time, keep letting stamps bring out <i>your</i> creativity.<br />

I just didn't get around to using them. Something about the summer being busy ;) I finally broke out my <i>Peppermint Sticks</i> embossing powder the other day. I had a Demonstrator meeting yesterday (a HUGE perk of being a demo - meeting, stamping and talking with wonderful ladies who love stampin' as much as me!) and committed to making swaps. And swaps were made :)<br />

The sketch for this card came from this week's <a href="http://retrosketches.blogspot.ca/2012/09/retrosketches-29.html">Retro Sketches Challenge</a>. I changed it up a bit - my greeting is the third element at the bottom of the card and my bow is the little accessory on the ribbon. I absolutely love sketches like this. Clean, simple and they allow me to showcase a really gorgeous DSP (<i>Candlelight Christmas </i>from the Mini).<br />
<br />
<b>Tips & Tricks:</b><br />
<br />
*Did you know that with our new <i>Firm Foam Ink Pads </i>you can emboss our <i>Scented Embossing Powders </i>without <i>VersaMark</i>? They leave images a bit more moist, so quickly sprinkle on that powder and emboss with the <i>Heat Tool</i>.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvRAlj3fiR8BPIecTzwxBEJnq9Z2hiQkgKjetjt3U7QHWxJI6jLfgYTcNvLIksQNgXFkVyF1VA7uqjiWXGz9NckSJH_oYsA4crm-dUaovFW2J1BGZ1C4orZl2Wl8GU4UmwzNgJC4jmStA/s1600/RS+29+2a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvRAlj3fiR8BPIecTzwxBEJnq9Z2hiQkgKjetjt3U7QHWxJI6jLfgYTcNvLIksQNgXFkVyF1VA7uqjiWXGz9NckSJH_oYsA4crm-dUaovFW2J1BGZ1C4orZl2Wl8GU4UmwzNgJC4jmStA/s320/RS+29+2a.jpg" width="249" /></a></div>
*The <i>Candlelight Christmas </i>DSP is what Christmas is all about. Gorgeous rich colors, snowflakes and stunning patterns.<br />
*My hot cocoa mug image was stamped it with the <i>Scentsational Season </i>stamp set. Then I used the <i>Holiday Collection Framelits </i>to cut it out. So much easier than using my snips ;)<br />
*I am LOVING the new <i>More Merry Messages</i>. I was really sad to see <i>Many Merry Messages </i>retire, but I've forgotten all about it. lol!<br />
<br />
I hope the ladies I swapped with last night enjoyed this card. Atleast it smelled delightful ;) 'Til next time, keep letting stamps bring out <i>your </i>creativity!<br />

It's really cute and I can use it on thank you cards, birthday cards, really *any* kind of card. But how did I come by the stamp set? I didn't actually buy it yet! I borrowed it from one of my downline who's super creative but just couldn't figure out what to do with it. I wanted to prove to her that it really is easy to use ;)<br />
<br />
Today's card is brought to you care of the <a href="http://sundaystamps.blogspot.com/">Sunday Stamps Challenge</a>. Our Lead Design Team Member Holly provided us with this week's color challenge:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh916fJD3RbtGp294i1S8no6t70YVMWbQQhg0bEstrpf-zcHvWxYa4VbR5XC-5nrqV3B71cVVBRQlKCApWn-Y8Y68Og9VHY8PZry2RqSFHpHtx8y8g9LcaqZKjqzceYw5uVl8ZQWmyXbsc/s400/SSC15.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="189" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh916fJD3RbtGp294i1S8no6t70YVMWbQQhg0bEstrpf-zcHvWxYa4VbR5XC-5nrqV3B71cVVBRQlKCApWn-Y8Y68Og9VHY8PZry2RqSFHpHtx8y8g9LcaqZKjqzceYw5uVl8ZQWmyXbsc/s320/SSC15.gif" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
What a funky color combo - definitely not my norm, but so much fun! That's what I love about challenges, they definitely push me out of my comfort zone most of the time. I made this card for my oldest friend for her birthday. We've known each other for over 20 years and she definitely is a treasure!<br />
<br />
<b>Tips & Tricks:</b><br />
*I decided to play around with my embossing powders for this card. I embossed the peacock in <i>Melon Mambo</i> and the greeting in <i>Black</i>. I love how the Melon Mambo EP gives the peacock some shine and dimension.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhinnszDDzz_9jU9qb9hVEBXCUUDzvjc6-yccSSKyuXWsJLyTY8Gwl-7SavOhq7P30Avu7jB3CZaf-HxloSi9HK-3LGeJCeqoa-ALA6dEP-gOqPjC0nPrQ6ATXvtBzvYGv32EsmnrQrx0k/s1600/SS+15+2a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="155" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhinnszDDzz_9jU9qb9hVEBXCUUDzvjc6-yccSSKyuXWsJLyTY8Gwl-7SavOhq7P30Avu7jB3CZaf-HxloSi9HK-3LGeJCeqoa-ALA6dEP-gOqPjC0nPrQ6ATXvtBzvYGv32EsmnrQrx0k/s320/SS+15+2a.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
*Do you like my black rhinestones? I simply used a black Sharpie marker to color the <i>Basic Jewels - Rhinestones</i> black. They still sparkle, too!<br />
*I love the new <i>Designer Labels Framelits</i>. They coordinate with many stamps in the catalogue and I love how I can easily cut out images and greetings.<br />
*The peacock is a big image, which is what my friend had trouble with. But I love how I just need the one stamp to make my card.<br />
<br />
I hope my friend enjoys her birthday card. I still have to find her a gift though... 'Til next time, keep letting stamps bring out <i>your</i> creativity! And don't forget to join us at <a href="http://sundaystamps.blogspot.com/">Sunday Stamps</a> this week!<br />

I also wanted to show off my fave new Christmas stamp set! I just got the <i>Evergreen</i> stamp set last week, love the UPS Brown Truck. ;) It is soooo pretty! I love the words to Silent Night on one of the stamps ~ so pretty! And doesn't Silent Night represent so well what Christmas is all about :)<br />

I kind of did it backwards though, I looked for a sketch I loved that would work with my <i>Evergreen </i>tree. The sketch from Week #40 worked perfectly. I changed it up a bit (because you know, that's what I do ;) ) but it's pretty close.<br />

*Instead of using a different card stock color or a DSP on the bottom layer, I embossed my Pool Party card stock with the <i>Delicate Designs Embossing Folder. </i>It can look lacy, but works pretty well as snowflakes, too!<br />
*I didn't really want to put my tree in an oval, so I stuck with my trusty rectangle :)<br />
*Did you know SU! was the first stamp company to do 'two-step stamping'? I love this simple technique! I first stamped the solid tree in Pool Party and then the words to Silent Night in Basic Grey. This stamp set is very easy to line up, no need for a 'perfect fit'.<br />
*Aren't Basic Grey and Pool Party lovely colors for a Christmas card? Cool, but I think they work great with the tree!<br />
<br />
I especially enjoyed creating this card because we will be making it at my monthly Crazy 4 Christmas Card in October! I can't wait to stamp some Christmas cards with some wonderful ladies soon! I still have a few spots, so be sure to sign up soon.<br />
<br />
'Til next time, keep letting stamps bring out <i>your</i> creativity!<br />

She makes cards too but is in the midst of selling her home and didn't have time to make a card for a wedding this week-end. She wanted me to give her or make a card she could give the happy couple. I completely understand the stress of the whole selling/buying/moving process so of course I said 'yes' :) My friend LOVES anything Eiffel Tower-related so I grabbed <i>Artistic Etchings</i> and went to work:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiorZmshYy4UPQl4PYeEULADzJ_aRZWKrqCL1a83dTONd-ZsetdigN6XoOdaIBHErcQxJ7wzVGej6X6PHineKAB2rHsG8SokiAoEnlFnMtFMXdHMSMfO3VCymO6TdM5o91F57Qu0Erqmc/s1600/TPP+112+1a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiorZmshYy4UPQl4PYeEULADzJ_aRZWKrqCL1a83dTONd-ZsetdigN6XoOdaIBHErcQxJ7wzVGej6X6PHineKAB2rHsG8SokiAoEnlFnMtFMXdHMSMfO3VCymO6TdM5o91F57Qu0Erqmc/s400/TPP+112+1a.jpg" width="322" /></a></div>
<br />
I must say, when I was uploading this card, I saw how often I used <i>Artistic Etchings</i> and I'm pretty sure I have to conclude that it's officially my favorite set ;) lol! I use it A LOT! For my color combo on this card, I used <a href="http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.ca/2012/09/paper-players-112-colours-from-lesley.html">The Paper Players Challenge</a> this week. Baja Breeze, Basic Grey and Basic Black. What a fantastic combo for a wedding card! I'll definitely have to tuck this one away for future reference ;)<br />
<br />
<b>Tips & Tricks:</b><br />
*See that ribbon? It's the <i>1/2" Striped Satin Ribbon </i>from the Holiday Mini. It's part of the Hallowe'en collection of products. But doesn't it work great for wedding cards?<br />
*The 'Amour' greeting fits almost perfectly into the small, curvy <i>Itty Bitty Banners Framelit</i>. It took a bit of finagling (is that even a word? Spell-check doesn't catch it...) but I got it in there.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJ8wPwP9c_JoZGsC0u26JHsKU0-ljIxBLhEJxK5HYmS_dwomNMYfBqHj3MRuYc-GcbEua67FpT1weG2cEtdUtXNpu30z2DAzoSGtMaWFJiS5uDa1vgwU1g1GhcBqIuSkpYzvJonxECly4/s1600/TPP+112+2a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJ8wPwP9c_JoZGsC0u26JHsKU0-ljIxBLhEJxK5HYmS_dwomNMYfBqHj3MRuYc-GcbEua67FpT1weG2cEtdUtXNpu30z2DAzoSGtMaWFJiS5uDa1vgwU1g1GhcBqIuSkpYzvJonxECly4/s320/TPP+112+2a.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
*I love the <i>Elegant Bouquet</i> embossing folder for wedding cards. The flowers just seem so perfect for the occasion.<br />
*Since I used a Basic Gray card base, I put a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Whisper White card stock inside the card so my friend could easily write in it.<br />
<br />
I really hope the happy couple love their card. And I hope my friend approves! 'Til next time, keep letting stamps bring out <i>your</i> creativity!<br />
