Wedding 'Amour'

A friend recently e-mailed me in a panic. She makes cards too but is in the midst of selling her home and didn't have time to make a card for a wedding this week-end. She wanted me to give her or make a card she could give the happy couple. I completely understand the stress of the whole selling/buying/moving process so of course I said 'yes' :) My friend LOVES anything Eiffel Tower-related so I grabbed Artistic Etchings and went to work:

I must say, when I was uploading this card, I saw how often I used Artistic Etchings and I'm pretty sure I have to conclude that it's officially my favorite set ;) lol! I use it A LOT! For my color combo on this card, I used The Paper Players Challenge this week. Baja Breeze, Basic Grey and Basic Black. What a fantastic combo for a wedding card! I'll definitely have to tuck this one away for future reference ;)

Tips & Tricks:
*See that ribbon? It's the 1/2" Striped Satin Ribbon from the Holiday Mini. It's part of the Hallowe'en collection of products. But doesn't it work great for wedding cards?
*The 'Amour' greeting fits almost perfectly into the small, curvy Itty Bitty Banners Framelit. It took a bit of finagling (is that even a word? Spell-check doesn't catch it...) but I got it in there.

*I love the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder for wedding cards. The flowers just seem so perfect for the occasion.
*Since I used a Basic Gray card base, I put a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Whisper White card stock inside the card so my friend could easily write in it.

I really hope the happy couple love their card. And I hope my friend approves! 'Til next time, keep letting stamps bring out your creativity!

Paper: Basic Grey, Baja Breeze, Whisper White

Wedding Dress from the Manhattan Flower

We found out that good friends of ours eloped over the July 1st long week-end. And by eloped, I mean eloped. They were married at a New Hampshire Lighthouse and it was them, their 18-month-old daughter and the Justice of the Peace. Truth be told, sounds like a FABULOUS wedding to me. Nice and simple. Focused on the happy couple and their happy little family :)

Of course I need to send them a card. I *wish* I could say that this was my idea, but it's not. I had recently seen this card at fellow demonstrator Amy Celona's Blog (though I believe the original idea was another fellow demonstrator's, Betty Button's - this is what we do - we CASE the things we like :) ) and was excited to find out I had a 'reason' to CASE it :) It's so easy, if you have the Manhattan Flowers Big Shot Embossing Folder and a pair of Paper Snips, you'll be good to go.

Curious where I get the Wedding Dress? Look at the embossing folder below... I've outlined the dress in it. Pretty cool, isn't it?

Tips & Tricks:

*To get around the fine corners, maker sure to use sharp-tipped scissors like Stampin' Up!'s Paper Snips.
*I wanted the main focus of this card to be on the dress, but I embossed the Whisper White mat with the Manhattan Flowers embossing folder because it was a little too plain on its own and I wanted to tie the two images together.
*I used Marina Mist for the rest of my card because I feel it perfectly highlights the oceanside lighthouse wedding this special couple had.
*Like how I created the mat for my Modern Label Punch?  See the tutorial.
*As always, a few adhesive rhinestones add a little classy 'bling' to this card.

That's all today ~ I just couldn't resist sharing this card and other demonstrators' ingenuity. Keep letting stamps (and embossing folders) bring out your creativity!

Simple Daisy Thank You

I love my Big Shot because with a quick crank of the handle, I can make a simple yet stunning card. That's how I feel about this card. I got the original idea for it from my upline, Marlayne Hardy. And it's perfect for this week's Pals Paper Arts Challenge, where we were challenged to create something wedding related with inspiration from the photo to the left.

For anything wedding related, I love Stampin' Up!'s Confetti White card stock, which I used on my card. It has that classic wedding feel. Pretty and Pink and and a hint of Certainly Celery, like in the picture, completed the look. This card could be used as a 'Thank You', 'Congratulations to the Newlyweds' or even as the invitation itself!  Sometimes simple is beautiful, and better!

Hope you enjoyed this week's PPA card and keep letting stamps bring out your creativity!
