Blue and Silver - what a wonderful combination!

Wow, another post - I'm not doing all too bad with this blogging business :p I recently had the pleasure of making Thank You cards for a bride. Three cards for her bridesmaids, one for her mom, and another for her father. This lucky bride was actually a door prize winner from my Belly Laughs Mother's Day event - she won 5 handstamped cards! Her wedding colours are cornflower blue and silver, so after looking at my many designs, she chose the ones below and I adapted them to match her colours. I never thought to focus on this color combination so it was lots of fun to play and change my existing designs to fit :) I was thrilled with the result, as was the bride (which was most important). I also love how even though the cards all focus on silver and blue, they're all so very different. Here they are, they've definitely inspired me to choose a color combination and run with it to see what I come up with! Try it - it'll definitely get those creative juices flowing :D

My First Wedding Invitations!

This week-end I helped my best friend and her fiance make their wedding invitations. They wanted something modern and simple and their wedding colors are chocolate brown and fuschia. So, using the modern bride stamp from the "She's All That" stamp set and Chocolate Chip/Purely Pomegranate cardstock, I came up with this design for them. For the invitation in this photo I actually used the Rose Red cardstock so I can show it off even after the Purely Pomegranate retires :p But you get the idea. We embossed the bride in clear embossing powder and the ribbon is the 1/4" Chocolate Chip Poly-twill ribbon in the Occasions Mini :) I love it and hope you do to! I know the happy couple loves it and that's the most important thing!

This was a lot of fun and I'd love to do more invitations! Contact me today for your consult!

Cards, Albums and More

Well, it's been a little TOO long since I've updated this blog. But as some of you know, my 2 year old daughter has been dealing with some medical issues and blogging hasn't been at the top of my list of priorities. But, I have been stamping lots to relieve stress, and have made a few REALLY fun projects.

First... my Grandmother turned 95 (YES! 95!) on Tuesday. My Dad is currently in the Czech Republic with her so I made her a birthday gift and card. The gift was completely handmade photo album, filled with pictures of her great granddaughter. I still love my One of a Kind stamp set and coordinating Boho Blossoms punch so I used that as well as Rose Red cardstock and Bali Breeze Designer Paper to complete the project. How did I create the inside pockets of the album where the photos go? I used clear envelopes! I punched two holes in the envelope flaps that would ordinarily fold over and voila! Photo album pockets :) Here's a picture of the finished product - I was rather pleased if I do say so myself!

I then made a (somewhat) matching pocket card. Still lots of work, still TOTALLY worth the effort :)

Finally, it was my Dad's Birthday on May 15th. Yes, lots of Birthdays and Anniversaries this month! I made him a pocket card as well, but more importantly, I was excited to use this stamp from the Level 3 Hostess Set, Older and Wiser. It reads "Your childhood dream has come true" "You're finally older". I just loved this and new my Dad wouldn't be insulted ;) Here's the card I made for him! I stamped the "You're finally older" on the Old Olive Cardstock, the Whisper White cardstock has to be lifted to see it.

I'll try updating more often in the near future... thanks for reading :D

Stamp It Up for Mom @ Belly Laughs

What a fun day! I had my Mother's Day Event at Belly Laughs and let me tell you, it was lots of fun! The kids had a great time making cards with the Loonies for Littles Kit. Although I had designed a card for inspiration, they came up with fun and unique designs of their own - I loved seeing that wonderful creativity in young, budding stampers :) I never realized the potential that this Stamping Kit had - a GREAT deal for $32.50! Thanks to all those who came out - it was great meeting you! Here is the card I designed with the Loonies set, but like I said, the kiddies' cards were much much better ;)

I'd also like to offer a Big Congratulations to Lori M., Stephanie F. and Erin C. - they were the door prize winners!!! Last but not least, a HUGE THANK YOU to Sandra and the rest of Belly Laughs for allowing me to use their space!!!

Anniversary Card for DH!

I recently learned how to make a Trifold Pocket Card using This Tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers. Of course I had to try it right out! Lucky me, it's my 6th (YES, 6th!!!) wedding anniversary tomorrow so I had the perfect occasion to make this wonderfully complex yet surprisingly easy card! I also used my rounded corner punch to create the scallops and used my new Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the words on top in Close to Cocoa and then stamp again in VersaMark so I could emboss with Iridescent Ice. I LOVE the final result! Let me know what you think and if you have any questions on how I did it :) I'm constantly amazed by the wonderful things I can make!
